Aplicor Hits the Presses in College Curriculum TextbookI just had a conversation with Jeff York at Aplicor who shared with me that Aplicor's web-based CRM solution is being included in the upcoming version of the best selling retail and college textbook, "The Hard Truth about Soft Selling, Restoring Pride and Purpose to the Sales Profession". The book is apparently published in eight languages and distributed internationally. I found the book on Amazon.com and since the description looked interesting and the average rating was "5 stars", I bought and read the book - and it was excellent. The premise of the book is focused on improved selling techniques. As the book is also used by 101 colleges for their CRM curriculums (I had no idea that many colleges even had CRM curriculums), the next version due early next year will include reference tutorials at the end of each chapter with hands-on CRM exercises referencing Aplicor's CRM software. Apparently, Prentice Hall has licensed Aplicor's CRM solution for 101 colleges and 5,000 concurrent student users as part of their book distribution to these colleges. I loaned the book to our VP of Sales who indicates it may become required reading for his sales staff. It's my intent to actually provide this book to new-hire sales and marketing staff in order to combine their Aplicor learning with an outstanding sales instructional guide. Once the new book version hits the shelves, I'll follow up this article with a more detailed review.
