CRM Best Practice #9 - Retrace Your Steps with the 'Recent Accounts' Component
I recently discovered a component in the Menu Designer Components library that has been a real time saver for our sales staff. I'm not sure if it is delivered as a standard function by Aplicor or if it may have been removed by our consultant during the implementation, however, it wasn't visible on our system until I stumbled upon it and activated it. The Recent Accounts behavior permits users to retrieve any recent accounts (or incidents) they recently worked in a single click.
To enable the automatic display of a cascading menu with hyperlinks back to the last six accounts or incidents, go to the Menu Designer, create a user-defined menu caption, select the 'Open Recent Accounts' behavior, designate Accounts or Incidents and assign roles. I actually created two of the menu items - one for SFA accounts and one for Customer Support incidents. Another cool thing about this feature is that is hyperlinks back to the account (or incident) as well as the last tab page that was viewed for the particular account (which is very helpful as our sales team spend most of their time on the sale opportunity page). The first time you set this up you may see cascading menu sub-items of three dashes (---). This is simply a visual queue that up to six accounts or incidents have not been selected since the component was activated. As soon as you use the system and access the first six accounts, you will have filled the Recent Accounts window which will then circulate itself in
a FIFO (first in first out) order.
